From a Studio Apartment to the Courts
iPickl was born in a small studio apartment in Phoenix, AZ — the vision of Joel Ticknor, a 22-year-old player and entrepreneur. It started like any good thing does: with questions. Why are pickleball paddles so costly? What actually makes a paddle perform?
Those questions quickly grew into a mission. Hundreds of paddles tested. Years of R&D. Zero fluff. Purely focused on performance — everything that matters, nothing more.
Designed on Court, Not in a Lab
Most pickleball paddles are designed in sterile labs by people who rarely touch the court. iPickl does it differently. We design on the court, with real input from real players. Every gram, every surface, every feel point is tested where it matters — in the heat of a rally.
Built by a Player Who Knows the Grind
Joel didn't come from a boardroom. He came from the baseline. A former junior pro who played 5.0+, a head coach with thousands of hours on the teaching side, and — most importantly — a player who started as a 2.5 and worked through every level. He's been where you are.
That perspective drives everything. And through his nonprofit, Pickleball Reach, Joel sends equipment and gear to young athletes in South Asia, giving as many as possible the chance to play this amazing game.
No Shortcuts. No Over-Engineering.
Every iPickl paddle follows one rule: if it doesn't improve performance, it doesn't belong. No gimmicks. No margin-chasing. Just honest, high-quality paddles that the market actually wants.
Welcome to the Community
When you buy an iPickl paddle, you're not just buying gear. You're joining a community of players who don't compromise. Players who put in the work and expect their equipment to do the same.
This is just the beginning. Welcome to iPickl.
